There are three types of inchoate, or incomplete, crimes: attempt, conspiracy, and solicitation. Select any one criminal offense and discuss how a person(s) could attempt a crime, conspire to commit a crime, and engage in the solicitation of a crime. In addition, inchoate crimes are often charged and punishable at the same level as if the crime actually occurred. As an example, a person who is charged with attempted homicide after shooting a firearm at a person, but not killing that person, is charged and potentially punished to the same degree as if the homicide took place.
